Key West is the last island in a string of islets known as the Florida Keys.
The Florida Keys are a string of 800-1000 tropical islands stretching about 180 miles off the southern tip of Florida, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Beginning at the northernmost Key Biscayne and ending at the southernmost tip of the United States, Key West.
There are 42 bridges connecting all the Florida Keys islands. The longest bridge, Seven Mile Bridge, is 6.79 miles long, and it connects mainland Florida to the Florida Keys.
The Conch Republic
